The DNS servers and their associated applications functioned and were designed to provide fast and flexible means of resolving domain name or IP addresses. In the past, there was only one such DNS server that handled most of the DNS resolutions for many Internet users. However, there are now several different types of DNS servers including independent systems and self-managed hosting solutions that can handle different types of DNS resolutions on behalf of the user. Most of the time, there is a need to increase the number of IP address registers for the domain name that has been placed for. If you have not yet configured your domain name server in your website or your PC, it is important to do so right away. With an IP address, the domain name and its sub-domain names appear in the URL's of clients visiting your site. If you have already configured your domain name server, it is important to visit the DNS management tool provided by your Internet Service Provider or your web host to start the interactive mode. The interactive mode is essential because it enables you to enter specific information into the DNS server that will be resolved while resolving domain name and IP address data. The first step that you need to complete in this process is to open a command prompt or window for Windows by clicking on the Start button on your desktop computer. Once the window of the command prompt is opened, you should type the following commands in it: "nslookup command" and then hit the Enter key. You may need to click on the OK button to continue. When you type the command, a window will appear with a few lines of text. These lines tell the DNS server what domain name or IP address to resolve. Once you have entered this command, the DNS server will ask you if you want to query the name or address for information. If you want to do so, then you need to type "q" in the command prompt and then hit the Enter key. The DNS server will then ask you whether you want it to use the query and look up features of its database. If you have enabled the interactive mode in your domain name server, then you will see a box with an exclamation sign at the top of it. You will then need to click on the "yes" option in the DNS access control dialogue box in order to allow access to the name or address. When you are in the interactive mode, you can view the name or address using the address itself. If you have not yet configured the DNS server's cache, then the name that appears on the browser's address bar will not be resolved. This is because when you enter an IP address in the DNS lookup command it is interpreted as part of the IP address. If you have enabled the DNS server's cache, then the DNS query will be resolved before you specify the IP address during your query. You can specify various DNS parameter options during your query when you are in the non-interactive mode. You can specify various query type options during your query. When you enter a query during the interactive mode, then you cannot specify any DNS parameter options. However, you can specify various DNS parameter options during the non-interactive mode. These options allow you to specify various parameters that will be used during the DNS resolution. In the example above, you can use the query option to specify the City name server (CDN) and the country code domain name (cca) that will be associated with the IP address of the domain name that you are trying to resolve. The optional country option allows you to specify the country or countries that you want to be associated with the IP address during the DNS lookup. In this case, if the domain name is translated into country name then you will get the corresponding IP addresses from the country that you specify during your query. You can check the availability of the name servers for the IP address in your area by visiting nameserverlist. Nameserverlist displays the names of various name servers for various IP addresses in your area. There are many free name server lists available online. You can visit any of the websites that offer free name server lists to get an IP address listing that contains name servers for all the IP addresses in your area. If you do not find any name server listed with the IP address in your area then you can use the free name server lists that are available online. |
